Georgetown: Garfield Central's Main Terminal

Georgetown and its major yard and engine terminal / roundhouse

Georgetown (GT) serves as GC's major freight and passenger terminal. Below is a view of an eastbound entering Georgetown. Georgetown Tower sits at GT's west end, and is visible below. GT's west lead is right in front of the tower:

Georgetown's yard is large, with 16 tracks divided into classification and arrival/departure. The below view shows the mainlines passing between the passenger platforms, a coal train parked on the eastbound siding, and another freight occupying the west lead:

The centerpiece of GT is Georgetown Union Station, seen in the below views:

GT also services the Garfield Central's locomotive roster. Below are the GT engine terminal, shops, and sand towers:

Diesels and steam engines together share GT's 12-stall roundhouse:

East from the engine terminal are two long yard leads, one of which folds into the main halfway between Georgetown and Bridgeport, the next stop.

Next up is Bridgeport.
